Well written personal essays can turn into interesting magazine articles. There is usually an article or two like that in some of the magazines I read. There was an especially good essay in the February issue of "Real Simple" about love. This is the kind of writing that I'm interested in.

In the past, I've written articles about the environment -- general interest kinds of stuff about State parks, trails, etc. I enjoy writing that sort of thing also, but I'm not so interested in news and current events. I hope you don't think that makes me shallow, but I get plenty of seriousness in the other areas of my life. Many of the people in our journalism classes seem very interested and well educated in political issues and other socio-economic topics. I'd like to know what others are interested in writing about.

Hi Cindy! I think this will be a fun blog to visit since I love to write too. I like to write essays but my real passion is writing children's stories. Looks like this will be a lot of fun!
